Submission Guidelines

Content Submission
All files (text and images) are to be submitted via email to the Editor. See the Contact page.

Email Subject Line
When submitting content, please following the following naming conventions:

For article submissions, please type the following in the subject line: SUBMISSION: “Name of Article”

For revisions to articles, please type the following in the subject line: REVISION: “Name of Article”

For image submissions, please type the following in the subject line: IMAGE: “Description of Image”

For advertising submissions, please type the following in the subject line: AD: “Business Name of Advertiser”

Here’s an example: The President would use the following subject line when submitting her article:

Text Files
Text files may be provided as either Microsoft Word files or as plain text within the body of the email. No other formats will be accepted (examples of UNACCEPTABLE formats: Microsoft Works, Word Perfect, Powerpoint, handwritten stories.)

Image Files
Image files must be submitted as attachments via email in one of the following file formats: TIFF, EPS, JPEG. When using a digital camera to take pictures for the newsletter, the camera must be set to it’s HIGHEST quality (high-resolution) setting.
Protocol for late submission of content
As editor, I will maintain a written log of all missed deadlines and report this information to the Executive Board at regular intervals. The board may then take these matters under consideration and determine a course of action.
Revisions
It is assumed that once content has been submitted to the editor, the material has been thoroughly fact-checked and reviewed for content, spelling, and grammatical accuracy.

In short, contributors are free to revise their piece as many times as they wish while engaged in the writing process. Once the submission deadline arrives, the writing process officially ends and the design process must begin.

If you notice an error after you have submitted your material, please send an email containing the full text of your CORRECTED article and indicate in the subject line: REVISION: “Name of Article”

Please note that revisions after submission to the editor should be rare. Habitual abusers of this policy will be reported to the CAEA Executive Board.
